Key Properties
  • Very low surface tension with excellent wetting and penetration properties
  • High flash point and slow evaporation
  • Very high solvency power
  • Miscible with aliphatic hydrocarbon solvents as solvency booster

The excellent solvency properties of ESTISOL® 222 can be demonstrated by removal of bitumen from a steel surface at room temperature.
A steel plate was covered by bitumen solution and allowed to dry overnight. ESTISOL® 222 was applied on the plate and allowed to run down – no mechanical action was used. Finally, the plate was flushed with water at low pressure. ESTISOL® 222 dissolves the bitumen in a few seconds leaving a clean steel surface after water flushing.
