- Vitamin E is the collective name for a group of fat-soluble compounds with strong antioxidant properties. In nature, Vitamin E is found in whole grains, nuts, seeds, vegetable oils and green leafy vegetables.
- As a powerful antioxidant, Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative damages caused by free radicals. Free radicals are molecules produced by certain biological processes, that contain a free, unshared electron which is believed to contribute to cancer and cardiovascular disease. This is especially true when free radicals attack our DNA.
- Another possible benefit to the heart is that Vitamin E can help balance cholesterol levels. Vitamin E is also important for maintaining a healthy immune function.
