The ETOCAS series is a range of vegetable derived non-ionic surfactants suitable for use in a broad range of applications. Chemically, ETOCAS 30 is a PEG 30 Castor Oil while ETOCAS 40 is a PEG 40 version. Castor Oil is a very unique vegetable oil - being particularly high in ricinoleic acid. This gives the oil unusual solubilities in organic compounds. By ethoxylating this material, Croda is able to make the oil soluble in water - giving rise to a wide range of functionality and applications. Being more highly ethoxylated, ETOCAS 40 is the more water soluble of the two. This difference can at times make one preferred over the other as an emulsifier depending on the oil phase components.
