The industry shift to lower basis weight nonwovens has caused rewet issues in hygiene applications. This is a key issue in hygiene finishes since rewet is a critical property to keep the skin dry and prevent irritation and leakage. Cirrasol 920XR shows extremely low rewet compared to a competitive finish.
The filters papers after a rewet test using a competitive finish are almost completely saturated (indicating high rewet). Cirrasol 920XR shows slight spotting on the filter papers (indicating low rewet). The liquid insult (0.9% NaCl) was dyed blue for better visibility.

Cirrasol 920XR was sent to an outside lab for an in-vitro elution test for cytotoxicity using an ISO method. Cytotoxicity of stained cultures was assessed according to the following grading system:
