Cola® Trope 1254

Cola®Trope 1254 is an anionic hydrotroping agent designed to maximize the benefits in all systems. It can be used to replace phosphate esters in moderately alkaline systems to eliminate phosphorus release. As a free flowing liquid at an alkaline pH, it can easily be added to existing systems to improve foaming action and help solubilize nonionics. It will also help suppress Krafft points in blends with high levels of inorganic builders and provide some wetting action on hard surfaces.

Formulation Guidelines

Cola®Trope 1254 typical use levels are 5% - 15% as is and it can be added at any point in the blend. As a strongly anionic agent, it may not be compatible with cationic ingredients such as alkyl dimethyl ammonium chloride or other similar biocides. The inclusion of an amphoteric such as a cocoamphodiacetate can help mitigate negative interactions.

Cola®Trope 1254 is not recommended for systems where the pH is less than 8 as its solubility is significantly decreased. An additional benefit is that Cola®Trope 1254 has good bleach tolerance and can be incorporated into cleaners containing sodium hypochlorite. As with any bleaching product, high pH and the addition of inorganic builders will help extend the shelf life.
