- Uses
- Recommended for sealing asphalt driveways, parking lots, pathways and other asphalt surfaces.
- Also can be used as a protective coating for some metal and wood surfaces.
- Limitations
- Not resistant to gasoline, oil, or other petroleum products.
- Will not cure when applied over coal tar surfaces.
- Preparation
- Surface must be dry and free from all dirt, oil, grease and foreign matter.
- No priming is required. Minor oil spots or greasy areas must be treated with COCO SPOT-X Oil Spot Primer prior to application of 10-02 ASPHALT SEALER.
- Badly oil-damaged areas must me removed and patched with cold patch.
- Allow newly laid pavements and asphalt patches to cure for 90 days in warm weather before applying 10-02 ASPHALT SEALER.
- Do not apply if rain is expected or if the pavement surface is damp.
- Do not apply over coal tar surfaces.
- Applications
- Apply by spray, brush, or squeegee.
- Avoid pooling.
- Do not dilute.
- Addition of gasoline or other thinners will alter the product and cause the cured film to discolor.
- Browning or other discolouration may also occur if the pavement surface contains excessive moisture.
- Use caution not to over-apply if applying by brush or squeegee - curing times are longer when application rates are high.
- Do not apply if the temperature is less than 15°C.
- Under favorable conditions, the sealer will be cured after 24 hours.
- Under marginal conditions (temperatures below 15°C, damp, cloudy weather) curing time will be extended and may take 7 days or more depending on the severity of the conditions.
- For best results, do not apply to hot pavement or when temperatures exceed 27°C.
- Do not open sealed surface to traffic until sealer has cured.
- Clean Up
Any suitable safety solvent.
