- Advantages
The advantages of ECOGEL are the following:
- High water retention capacity
- Decrease of irrigation frequency, thus reducing the water consume
- Contributes to the root development and germination
- Improves the soil and substrate’s structure
- Reduces the stress during the transplanting in reforestation or in big containers
The durability of its effects goes from 2 to 4 years, depending on the environment conditions.
- Properties
ECOGEL is a polymeric absorbent substance known as ‘super-absorbent’, thanks to its high water retention capacity. It is able to store from150 to 400 times its dry weight in water.
When the polymers get in touch with water, they absorb water molecules and an insoluble substance is formed, similar to a gel. Such gel becomes a water store available for the roots.
ECOGEL acts like a sponge (0.5gr of ECOGEL are enough to turn a glass of water into gel), and volume changes may occur.
Its high persistence and its efficient water liberation make this product a powerful weapon against drought and to reduce water consume and frequency.
ECOGEL is 100% active matter, has a neutral effect on pH, is odorless and has no toxicity.

- Application
ECOGEL has several applications, such as the following:
- Reforestation and fruit tree planting: guarantees water supply and root protection during transplanting.
- Substrates: mixing it previously with the substrate before the plantation, it reduces the irrigation frequency and the stress caused by the water shortage.
- Hydroponic Culture: reduces humidity variations in the substrate.
- Decoration: used as a culture support in transparent containers, it allows to see the root development and acts as a water reservation.
- Gardening and green areas: it is recommended to apply it before sowing.
ECOGEL is made up of medium-sized white granules, and can be applied on substrates, gardening and horticulture.
- Instructions for use
ECOGEL is applied directly on the soil or mixed with the substrate, together with mineral and organic fertilizers. It’s recommended to apply it during the plantation time, through surface spreading or localized application in the plantation hole.
EGOCEL is offered in three different granulometry, which are recommended for the following uses:
- Fine granulometry: Seeding substrates and transplants
- Medium granulometry: general use in substrates, gardening and horticulture
- Thick granulometry: large areas reforestation decoration, thick granulometry soils and hydroponic.
The recommended doses are the following:
- Mixed with substrate or soil: 2-3 g/l
- Surface spreading: 50-100 g/ m2
- Little plant: 15 g/plant
- Big plant: 30 g/plant
