INTUMAX® is a class of revolutionary flame retardants / intumescent agents that are ideal for incorporation into thermoset coatings and foams, potting compounds, fiberglass reinforced structures, electrical laminates, thermal plastics, paints, films, resins and many other applications. When blended into your resin system, INTUMAX® will react to heat or flame to foam and form a thick, high yield char barrier. This char barrier will mitigate fire and prevent further flame spread. The char foam can also insulate and protect the coated substrate from heat damage. INTUMAX® has been proven successful in epoxy, acrylic, vinyl acetate, urethane, polypropylene and PVC resin systems. Coatings only 3mils (3/1000 of an inch.) thick, at loading levels of only 10-20%, can foam up to 1.5 inches. INTUMAX® is halogen free and does not evolve the highly toxic and corrosive gasses associated with many other fire retardants. Additionally, INTUMAX® has low water solubility and will not leach out over time.

The char barrier will extinguish fire and prevent further flame spread. Additionally, the char foam insulates and protects the coated substrate from heat and fire damage. Intumax EP 102W is a two-part waterborne epoxy intumescent coating. It is engineered to provide a protective coating that combines toughness and wear resistance with low flame spread, low heat transfer and low smoke. In addition, the smoke generated is low in toxicity. The char foam that is formed rises in 20 - 40 seconds. Once this char layer forms, smoke generation is almost entirely eliminated; the burning ceases, and coated surfaces are thermally insulated. Intumax EP102W cures within 24 hours at room temperature to a tack free coating while providing close to 3 hours of working life. For ease of application or for spraying, Intumax EP102W is readily thinned with tap water.

Intumax AC 3 is a highly efficient phosphate based halogen free fire retardant intumescent agent. It is pH neutral, and water insoluble. Intumax AC 3 is recommended for use in both indoor and outdoor application in resins including epoxies, acrylates, polyvinyl acrylate, PVA emulsions, and PVC. Applications where Intumax AC 3 has found utility vary greatly from waterborne paints and adhesives to wire and cable. Intumax EP200C is a unique two component epoxy fire retardant – intumescent coating based on our proprietary non-halogenated phosphate technology. All of our phosphates are manufactured in house for our exclusive use. When exposed to heat and/or fire, INTUMAX®EP-200C forms a continuous char foam that protects products from both heat and flame. The active ingredients in INTUMAX® products are not water soluble and will not leach out over time. INTUMAX®EP-200C is recommended for use as a base resin for specialty coatings. The viscosity is easily reduced by the addition of solvents. Pigments, anti- settling agents and other flame retardants may also be incorporated.

INTUMAX EP1115X HP is a unique two-component epoxy fire retardant – intumescent coating based on our proprietary non-halogenated phosphate technology. All of our phosphates are manufactured in house for our exclusive use. When exposed to heat and/or fire, INTUMAX EP1115X HP forms a robust, dense char insulation layer that protects a variety of substrates from the effects of heat and flame. The active ingredients in INTUMAX products are not water-soluble and will not leach out over time.

Intumax EP102 is a unique two component epoxy fire retardant - intumescent coating based on our proprietary non-halogenated phosphate technology. The active ingredients in INTUMAX® products are not water soluble and will not leach out over time. INTUMAX®EP102 is recommended for use as a base resin for specialty coatings. The viscosity is easily reduced by the addition of solvents. Pigments, anti-settling agents and other flame retardants may also be incorporated.

Intumax DBK is a highly efficient phosphate based halogen free fire retardant intumescent agent. It has a slightly acidic pH, and is water insoluble. Intumax DBK is recommended for use in both indoor and outdoor application in two part urethanes. Applications where Intumax DBK has found utility vary greatly from urethane adhesives, non-skid coatings, and for secondary electrical applications in urethane potting and encapsulating systems. Intumax AC 2BG is a special version of AC 2, and is ideal for incorporation into thermoset coatings and foams, potting compounds, fiberglass reinforced structures, as well as electronic laminates and many other applications. Intumax AC 2BG has been proven successful in epoxy, phenolic, acrylic, vinyl acetate, urethane and PVC resin systems. When blended into your resin system, Intumax AC 2BG will react to heat and or flame to foam and form a thick, high yield char barrier.
