- Product Highlights
- Ammonia Control (AM) is a blend of six facultatively anaerobic microbial cultures making this product effective across a wide range of substrates and environmental conditions. The microbes in AM are strictly saprophytic and digest only non-living and dead materials.
- The product contains both heterotrophic (requires a carbon source) ammonia oxidizers and hyper ammonia utilizers.
- Ammonia oxidizing bacteria's preferred source of nitrogen is nitrates and hence they biologically oxidize ammonia into nitrates and consume nitrates for their growth and activity. Through this process, ammonia is converted (oxidized) into nitrates through a microbiological, not a chemical process. Hyper ammonia utilizer's preferred source of nitrogen is ammonia and hence they consume ammonia directly.
- In addition to odor reduction, use of AM in wastewater reduces BOD, COD, TSS and TDS; mechanical aeration and agitation will enhance the effect.
- By performing a more efficient, less odorous waste reduction process, AM substantially increases treatment capacity while reducing energy consumption, the need for mechanical dredging and treatment with toxic chemicals. The product is harmless to human, plants, animals, and aquaculture.
