Leucophor® ACW Liquid

Leucophor® ACW Liquid is a patented urea-free optical brightener, specifically engineered for stock application in both sized and unsized papers. This brightener has been meticulously designed to meet the most stringent environmental standards. It is particularly well-suited for stock application in neutrally sized and calcium carbonate-filled papers, as well as in coating formulations containing PVOH, CMC, or casein as secondary binders.

Product Features
  • Leucophor® ACW liquid is a highly substantive, disulphonated stilbene brightener which exhibits very good build up even at low concentrations. It is especially suited for stock application in neutrally sized and calcium carbonate filled papers and for use in coating formulations which contain PVOH, CMC or casein as a secondary binder.
  • Leucophor® ACW liquid is urea and glycol or solvent free and therefore contributes very much less to the overall nitrogen and C.O.D. content of the backwaters and effluents.
  • Leucophor® ACW liquid is readily dilutable with water in all proportions and exhibits very good stability to hard and soft water and alkaline conditions. It may be used continuously or batchwise as required and is compatible with most anionic and nonionic products. Resistance to interference from cationic products is better than with tetra or hexasulphonated products but may vary and should be determined in preliminary trials.
  • Leucophor® ACW liquid is one of the most effective OBAs for use in wood containing grades such as improved newsprint. Whilst increases in brightness in these types of papers are modest in comparison to those produced with fully bleached chemical pulps, Leucophor® ACW liquid has been found to perform well and has the advantage of being urea-free.

  • It is strongly recommended to clean storage tanks thoroughly before loading with Leucophor ACW liquid.
  • The storage stability of the product cannot be guaranteed if it is mixed with other OBAs or chemicals. When required, Leucophor ACW liquid can be quenched with Cartarex 2L liquid or Cartarex NT liquid.
