Dermol ISL is an emollient ester derived from vegetable source alcohol and lactic acid, an alpha hydroxyl acid. It is a nongreasy, long chain ester exhibiting substantive emolliency and lubricity with a minimum of oiliness and luxurious softness on the skin. The free hydroxyl group on the lactic acid enhances its spreadability on the substrate. Also, it increases the solubility in hydrophilic solvents such as glycols while maintaining its solubility in hydrophobic solvents such as silicones and mineral oil. Dermol ISL is recommended as a binder for pigmented products and for make-up removers. It is also highly desirable for lotions and for moisturizing facial creams.
