Features & Benefits
- Product Properties
- AFCONA-6700 is an anti-gel additive for air-drying alkyds and stoving coating systems.
- In air-drying alkyd paints, the ketoxime in AFCONA – 6700 form a protection layer on the top of the paint to reduce the oxidation caused by oxygen.
- However, AFCONA – 6700 mainly is used in stoving paints to avoid gel during storage. AFCONA – 6700 will block the reactive group of the melamine and will re-release it at 80 - 100°C for further reaction. AFCONA-6700 can significantly prolong the shelf life of a coating.

Addition and dosage
0.5 - 1.0 % on total formulationIncorporation
AFCONA-6700 should be added after grinding. Already gelled materials can be restored to processing viscosity by the addition of AFCONA-6700. In such cases, the addition levels should be two or three times higher than given above.
