Afcona 6220

Fatty acid modified polyester.

Calculation method for the required amount of active ingredient on pigment:
Universal colorants:

• 5 - 10% for inorganic pigments
• 10 - 20% for organic pigments
• Base-paints 0.5 - 1.5% on total based paints
• Bentonites 15 - 25% on active /thickeners substance 

AFCONA-6220 can be incorporated in the millbase or used as post additive .

AFCONA-6220 is able to stabilize inorganic and organic pigments in water and solvents. In addition, it makes the polar ingredients of universal colorants used in non-polar solventbased paints more compatible.
AFCONA – 6220 has below special properties and recommended in below systems:
1) Act as an economic dispersant for the preparation of universal pigment concentrates for water and solvent- based decorative coatings. For more effectiveness a combination with AFCONA – 4560 will give better results
2) Improves the color acceptance of commercial colorants in air-drying alkyds
3) AFCONA-6220 is an activator for Bentonites as well as for associated and acrylic thickeners
4) In overall performances, AFCONA – 6225 is better than AFCONA – 6220 in almost all aspects Note: AFCONA – 6220 will become slightly hazy at temperatures below 5° C. This will not influence the quality.

AFCONA-6220 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture. The expiry date is indicated on the container.
