Afcona 4474

Acrylate based Polymeric Dispersant.

Calculation method for the required amount of active ingredient on pigment:

• TiO2 : 2 - 3%
• Other inorganic pigments : 2 - 4%
• Organic pigments : 20 - 40%
• Carbon blacks : 20 - 60

AFCONA-4474 should be incorporated in the mill base before adding the pigments.

AFCONA – 4474 is a very strong dispersant especially for TiO2 dispersion in oil free polyester/melamine systems. This combination is commonly used in coil and can coating as well as in industrial baking paints.

AFCONA - 4474 is particularly suitable for the following applications:
1) In coil and can coating applications the use of AFCONA – 4474 in TiO2 dispersions will increase the whiteness as well as the hiding power of the coating. It will also reduce the viscosity of the system. Therefore higher pigment loading could be achieved
2) Due to the pigment affinity group it is also a good dispersant for transparent iron oxide and other inorganic pigments
3) It also can be used as an effective dispersant for other acid curing systems where dispersants contain amine values always affect the flocculation stability and curing time
4) Baking paints based on polyester systems
5) Afcona 4474 is also very suitable for UPE & Epoxy systems due to the acid functional pigment affinity group. Common dispersant mostly contain amine values which always affect the self- and pot-life

AFCONA-4474 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture. The expiry date is indicated on the container.
