Afcona 4071

Modified polyurethane polymer

Calculation method for the required amount of active ingredient on pigment.

• TiO2 :2 - 3%
• Other inorganic pigments :2 - 4%
• Organic pigments :20 - 40%
• Carbon blacks :20 - 60% 

AFCONA-4071 should be incorporated in the mill base before adding the pigments.

AFCONA-4071 is a high efficient high molercular weight dispersant. It has excellent stability for inorganic, organic pigments and carbon blacks. Benefit of its steric-hindrance effect, it can stabilize all types of pigments. This is an innovative concept of polyurethane dispersants which based on our own new developed intermediate monomer and own new developed anchoring groups.
AFCONA –4071 has below special and advantages:

• Improve gloss and reduce haziness(improve DOI);
• Prevent flooding;
• Stronger color acceptance;
• Lower viscosity;
• Improve the blackness of higher level channel carbon blacks.

AFCONA-4071 has below properties and recommended to below applications:
1) AFCONA-4071 is an improved version of AFCONA-4070, and it has more stable for pigments. AFCONA-4071 is one of the best products for reducing the viscosity and color development in AFCONA 4000 series. Overall pigment stability and performance is better in term of tinting strength and color brightness
2) AFCONA-4071 is special recommended to apply in baking systems, especially coil coatings.
3) AFCONA-4071 has good compatibility with most of hydroxy polyacrlate resins, Polyester resins, epoxies and etc. Whenever in high-end or general industrial paint systems. And it has excellent performance for organic pigments and carbon blacks.

Note: AFCONA – 4071 will become slightly hazy and crystalization below 5℃. Warm up to clear, and this will not influence the dispersing property and quality of final product.

AFCONA-4071 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture. The expiry date is indicated on the container.
