Afcona 4047

Modified polyacrylate polymer.

Calculation method for the required amount of active ingredient on pigment.

• TiO2 :2 - 3%
• Other inorganic pigments :2 - 4%
• Organic pigments :20 - 40%
• Carbon blacks :20 - 60%

AFCONA-4047 should be incorporated in the mill base before adding the pigments.

AFCONA-4047 is a highly effective polymeric dispersant for stabilizing inorganic and organic pigments as well as carbon blacks. It has very good stability performance, through effective steric hindrance, on all types of pigments.
This results in: - improved gloss and DOI - reduced flooding problems - higher color strength - lower viscosity AFCONA – 4047 has below special properties and recommended in below systems:
1) AFCONA – 4047 is compatible with almost all solvent-based resins with the exception of some thermoplastic acrylics.
2) Due to the excellent pigment stabilizing performance, AFCONA – 4047 is extremely suitable for high quality coatings, such as OEM and refinish, can coating, coil coatings and other high quality coatings. However, it also can be used in epoxy,UPE,Polyurethane and other resin systems.
3) AFCONA – 4047 gives lower milling viscosity comparing to AFCONA-4046. 4) AFCONA – 4047 can be used as effective dispersant for universal pigment concentrates preparation. For these we recommended a combination with AFCONA–1102.

Note: AFCONA – 4047 will become slightly hazy at temperatures below 5° C. This will not influence the quality.

AFCONA-4047 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture. The expiry date is indicated on the container.
