Afcona 3030

Organic modified polyether polysiloxane.

0.1 - 0.7% on total formulation. In general under normal conditions, the dosage is 0.2 – 0.5% based on total formulation

AFCONA-3030 can be added at any stage during the production process. When added during the dispersion process, it speeds up wetting.

AFCONA-3030 is a polyether modified polysiloxane. Mainly used as general slip and leveling agent for all solvent-based coatings to prevent Bénard Cells, provide leveling and works as anti-crater agent. The slip performance is not so high comparing to AFCONA – 3031, AFCONA – 3033 and AFCONA – 3230. Thus, this is a moderate slip leveling agent but the slip characteristic is dry type. AFCONA-3030 can be used as leveling and anti-crater agent in water as well as in solventbased applications. This product will stabilize more foam in water-based coatings.
The special properties and recommended systems for AFCONA – 3030 are:
1) A very economic and effective slip and leveling agent for air-drying alkyd systems
2) A very effective anti-crater agent for polyurethane systems. It also gives very less inner bubble sensitivity in polyurethane system
3) Perform as a superior additive against Bénard Cells in all solvent-based systems
4) Suitable for industrial baking systems, where baking temperature is less than 170ºC
5) Can be added into the grinding phase to speed up the wetting and grinding speed of pigments
6) Due to the foam stabilizing behavior not suitable for foam sensitive systems like solvent-free epoxy floor coatings.
7) Basically AFCONA – 3030 can be used in almost all solvent-based coatings as slip and leveling agent

AFCONA-3030 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture. The expiry date is indicated on the container.
