AFCONA-1501 is an universal dispersing resin tailor-made for the production of aqueous-based universal pigment concentrates. AFCONA-1501 shows a good pigment wetting and stabilizing performance and excellent compatibility with the resins most commonly used in water-based coatings. Due to the primary hydroxyl groups Afcona 1501 is able to crosslink with stoving paints as well as polyurethane systems. Complete water-solubility will be obtained by addition of e.g. 8% AMP 95.
AFCONA – 1501 is recommended to combine with other high mol weight dispersant like; AFCONA – 4560, AFCONA – 4570 or AFCONA – 6225 for preparation of water based pigment concentrates. Pigment concentrates containing AFCONA – 1501 have below special properties:- Very easy incorporation even at low speed
- Help to provide better pigment stability
- Help to prevent drying of pigment paste on the surface and on the wall of the container.
- Contain primary OH group which can involve in cross-linking in systems like PU and baking paint.
Remark : Due to higher binder content than resin free concept, it allows less pigment loading.
