Due to the presence of phosphorous, some of the Chemfac products show excellent extreme pressure (EP) properties in addition to conventional lubricity properties. Certain Chemfacs also exhibit corrosion inhibiting properties when neutralized with amines.

Chemfac NB-041 is a 2-butoxyethanol phosphate in the free acid form. Chemfac NB-041 is a clear colorless to yellow viscous liquid at room temperature that is water soluble. It has a Gardner color of 8 maximum, an acid value at 9.5 pH of 580 – 640, a percent water of 1 maximum, a pH of 1% is 2.0 and a specific gravity of 1.27 at room temperature.
