Safety & Health
- Environmental Effects
STEPSPERSE® 160S is expected to be biodegradable. A detailed biodegradability statement is available upon request.
STEPSPERSE® 160S is expected to be practically nontoxic orally (LD50 > 5000 mg/kg) and slightly irritating to the skin and eyes at 100% active.
- Workplace Exposure
Occupational exposure can occur primarily through skin contact or via inhalation of vapors and mists. Engineering controls, personal protective equipment, and other workplace safety practices should be used to control these exposures. See SDS for more information.
Packaging & Availability
- Packaging Information
STEPSPERSE® 160S is available in bulk and drum quantities.
Storage & Handling
- Storage Conditions
Normal safety precautions (e.g., gloves and safety goggles) should be employed when handling STEPSPERSE® 160S. Contact with eyes, nose or prolonged contact with skin should be avoided. Wash thoroughly after handling STEPSPERSE® 160S. See SDS for more information.
Non-Bulk Storage Recommendations: STEPSPERSE® 160S should be stored in closed containers and kept in a cool, dry place away from incompatible materials (see Section 10 of the SDS). STEPSPERSE® 160S that has been stored in drums at temperatures below 42°F (6°C) may thicken or solidify. Product may be fluidized by warming with a drum heater or in a steam room. Drums should be vented prior to heating to avoid excessive pressure build up. Product temperatures over 130°F (54°C) are not recommended.
Elevated temperature may be desirable to maintain ease of pumping, but product should be stored long term at ambient temperature.
