Gelest Red Iron Oxide SS (RIA-SSA) is a red iron oxide powder treated with stearyl triethoxysilane. This hydrophobic treatment imparts the excellent wetting properties of the shorter-chain silanes with a more emollient skin feel in powders and dispersed systems. It is a pigment that is used in various color cosmetic formulations.
