Recommended Applications
  • POLYCAT® 5 is a very effective catalyst in continuous and discontinuous MDI rigid foam applications.
  • POLYCAT® 5 can also be used in TDI, TDI/MDI and MDI high resilience (HR) flexible molded foams as well as for use in integral skin and microcellular systems.
  • POLYCAT® 5 may be used in conjunction with suitable co-catalysts from the DABCO®, POLYCAT® and/or KOSMOS® range, based on specific formulation requirements.
  • In PIR formulations, POLYCAT® 5 can be used as co-catalyst in conjunction with trimerization catalysts such as products of the KOSMOS® and DABCO® TMR series.
  • POLYCAT® 5 and potassium/metal catalyst should not be pre-blended as it might lead to incompatibilities.
  • Separate dosing and/or blending into the polyol is preferred.
  • The optimal concentration however will depend on specifics of the formulation and/or application.
