ALD Technical Solutions StrongBond™ Adhesive Putty System (With 200A Adhesive Putty & 200B Hardener Putty)
Chemical Family:
Epoxy & Epoxy Derivatives
Functions:
Surface Finish, Adhesive
StrongBond™ 200 Adhesive Putty System is a high-strength, toughened, structural epoxy adhesive for the bonding of carbon fabrics to itself and many dissimilar materials. It is a two-phase (toughened) epoxy resin produced using a CTBN elastomer with a flexible epoxy resin backbone for maximum stress and fatigue resistance. StrongBond™ 200 Adhesive Putty System with an immediate high tack consistency, a long working life, and a quick cure time. StrongBond™ 200 Adhesive Putty System may be used at ambient temperature(s) ranging from 55°F(13°C) to 100°F (38°C). The working life at 100°F (38°C) is > 2 hours (working time increases with lower ambient temperatures), with full cures occurring between 6-12 hours depending on cure temperature. Unlike most epoxy adhesives, StrongBond™ 200 Adhesive Putty System cured at ambient temperatures provides heat resistance well more than most engineering limits with an HDT of 85°C (185 °F). The material mixes at 2:1 by volume or 100:44 by weight (resin to hardener). The convenient color-coded components form a uniform color when properly mixed. StrongBond™ 200 Adhesive Putty System is designed for high production meter/mix ram dispensing and although highly thixotropic, has very fast application rates. With low odor and toxicity, StrongBond™ 200 Adhesive Putty System is solvent-free, and 100% solids.

Product Families:
Carbon Fiber, Reinforcements
Chemical Family:
Carbon Fiber
End Uses:
Beams, Structural Reinforcement, Structural Components
Zoltek has developed a new product and sizing chemistry for use in vinyl ester resin systems. Introducing Zoltek’s PX35 Vinyl Ester Compatible Tow product. This new product, based on our proprietary sizing chemistry, exhibits excellent adhesion to and compatibility with vinyl ester resin systems. Most carbon fiber products are used to reinforce epoxy resin systems. Recently, the demand has grown for a product and sizing chemistry that can be used in vinyl ester resins whether cured thermally or via room temperature infusion. When compared to Zoltek’s standard carbon fiber product, PX35 Epoxy Compatible Tow, the new vinyl ester compatible product has significantly higher interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) and transverse flexural strength TFS, which both measure and indicate fiber to resin matrix compatibility and adhesion, as well as, composite performance. Zoltek’s PX35 Vinyl Ester Compatible Continuous Carbon Fiber is manufactured from a polyacrylonitrile (PAN) precursor fiber. The consistency in yield and mechanical properties that are provided by large filament count strands gives the user flexibility to design and manufacture composite materials.

Ardel® resin
Density:
1210.0 - 1210.0 kg/m³
Stock shapes extruded from Ardel® resin are specifically formulated to endure the damaging effects of UV light. When exposed to UV light, the material undergoes a molecular change resulting in the formation of a protective layer that essentially serves as a UV stabilizer. This inherent UV stability combined with superior retention of optical and mechanical properties make polyarylate an ideal choice for any application where weathering effects could pose a problem.
