NEOSORB® PF is a pyrogen-free sorbitol used for parenteral preparations. In API applications it is used as a carbohydrate source and osmotic diuretic agent in large volume parenteral injectables. In excipient applications it is used for Rx injectables as an isotonic agent. Sorbitol is also used as an irrigating fluid for surgical procedures, to prevent intra- and extra-cellular dehydration.
