VANSIL® HR-2000 Wollastonite is a high aspect ratio, short needle grade of wollastonite. It is used principally as a mineral filler and reinforcing agent to enhance mechanical strength properties in high build coatings, texture paint, block fillers, joint compounds and adhesives. In high film build coatings, the needle-like shape of VANSIL HR-2000 improves mud crack resistance and sag resistance, while also contributing to peak retention in texture coatings. The naturally high pH of wollastonite helps to buffer latex paints and coatings, which contributes to improved corrosion resistance and weathering. This also extends in-can stability and prolongs the lifetime of the coating. It is recommended that high aspect ratio grades of VANSIL be added late in process to avoid possible damage to the needle structure from high shear mixing.

PYRAX® WA Pyrophyllite is a unique natural mixture of platy silicates, principally pyrophyllite, and quartz. PYRAX WA has a coarser particles size than PYRAX B. As a replacement for mica, PYRAX WA is an excellent filler in joint compounds and dry wall muds. PYRAX WA imparts mud crack resistance to high build coatings such as texture paints and block fillers. PYRAX WA is a good inert filler for use in contractor flat paints, where it contributes to improved low angle sheen control and scrub resistance. When used in exterior paints, the neutral pH of pyrophyllite yields reduced frosting.
