WILLAMETTE VALLEY HOPS GALENA

WILLAMETTE VALLEY HOPS GALENA is the ancient Roman term for the mineral galenite, which occurs in the soils of Oregon and gives its name to the hop variety grown there. Galena is a high alpha acids variety developed in the USDA breeding program in Idaho and released as a variety in 1978. It is characterized by high alpha acids and a relatively high content of beta acids.
